The familiar towns rolled by pretty quickly. Lion’s Bay,Brittania Beach,Squamish,Whistler and finally Pemberton. Only 5-10 minutes more and I was there. Check out what I saw:
Nice! And when I was hitting a few on the driving range, it began to quickly lighten up.
The guys showed up on time(they stayed in Whistler overnight) and the starter gave us the OK to tee off. Here’s the first hole, right at the foot of Mt. Currie.
This was the start of getting my ass kicked big time, and the rest of us too. I checked out the slope for this golf course and it’s not rated high at all, so I have no idea what the problem was. Good news was that it didn’t get me down though, I was enjoying the challenge. The greens were small, and protected well. Take a look at the pin surrounded by sand. Vicious.
The feeling I got on the golf course was calming, and why not with the scenery around us. I couldn’t help but not take idyllic shots of wherever I pointed the lens.
You can see in the next picture there was dew on the ground, and it lasted pretty much our entire round. The fog was a factor for sure, but the way I played, did it matter if the ball didn’t roll like it should at this time of year?
As usual, the round ended too soon. We paid $99 dollars for our round, but after 8am the price jumps to $159. As nice as the course is, I would not pay that. Also, I noticed on the website: ” Without doubt, the best manicured course in BC”. Not really true, as we saw some “scruffiness” here and there, and a few bald spots on the greens.
